Santa brought me a new Cricut! *Does the Snoopy happy dance* It’s the Cricut Explore Air™ Gold, purchased from Joann Fabric and Craft Store. So shiny! 🙂
This is the one I asked Santa for because it comes with a few extras. The exclusive “Gold” means it includes the Cricut LightGrip cutting mat, 20 designer projects, 20+ additional images and a 3-month subscription to the Cricut Design Space, along with the standard items included in the Cricut Explore Air™.
Santa was also smart enough to bring me a few accessories! I received the Essential Tool Set, A Multi Black Pen Set, and a roll of Iron-on paper.
To get started, I simply followed the instructions on the “computer setup” guide included in the box. I plugged in the USB cable to the Cricut and my computer, and attached the power cord. After turning on the Cricut, I pressed the “Open” button.
After following the remaining few steps, I logged onto www.cricut.com/design. I was asked to install the Design Space plugin just by following the onscreen prompts. Next, I created my Cricut ID and received the following message:
Congratulations! With your new machine, you receive 50+ images, 25+ projects, and a 2-week trial to Cricut Access™! Cricut Access unlocks a library of over 30,000 images, 1,000 Make It Now™ projects, and 740 fonts. Plus, enjoy 10% off all Cricut.com and Cricut Design Space™ purchases.
All your images are available in Design Space®–just click “Insert Images” and use the Filters menu to search “My Images.”
Then the fun began… I was able to follow the onscreen instructions to create my 1st project! (All of the materials were included in the box.)
My initial setup was pretty painless. Now I need to investigate the Cricut Design Space and watch some YouTube tutorials! They also sent emails with other links and suggestions, which should be useful.
I hope to share more of my experiences as I continue to learn! Wish me luck!
